Luxaflex TruFit fixes to the face of the glass on slim bonded profiles. Nothing is drilled, and nothing is pushed in behind the rubber gasket that seals your window. The blind moves with the sash, so it suits tilt and turn windows and glazed doors, and it's sized to the glass rather than to a particular bead.
How It Works
The blind becomes part of the window
Two slim profiles are bonded to the face of the glass with high-performance adhesive strips, and the blind runs between them under tension. Your window frame, glazing bead, spacer bar and rubber gasket are never touched. Nothing is drilled, and nothing is wedged in behind the seal.
Because the profiles are on the glass, the blind moves with the sash. Tilt the window and the blind tilts with it. Swing it fully open and the blind goes too, still doing its job, with nothing to unclip first and nothing left hanging in the opening.
There's no headrail and no base rail, so the fabric pack has no fixed top or bottom. That means TruFit can be built to run down from the top or up from the bottom. Bottom-up is worth asking about if you're overlooked but don't want to lose the light: the lower glass is covered for privacy while the top stays clear.
It's reversible, too. If the blinds ever need to come off, we soften the adhesive, lift the profiles away and clean the glass. The sealed unit is never disturbed.

TruFit works with three different blind styles. Choose the one that suits your room and your preferences.
Duette Shades
Honeycomb cellular fabric for maximum insulation and light control. A++ energy rated. No cord holes, no light bleed. The most popular TruFit option.
Plisse Pleated
A single-layer pleated fabric, lighter than a Duette and available in its own range of colours and textures. It's rarely the one people settle on, but it's there if the Duette cell isn't what you want.
Venetian Blinds
Adjustable slats for precise light and privacy control. Tilt the slats to direct light exactly where you want it while maintaining a view through the window.
Ideal For
Where TruFit works best
TruFit suits tilt and turn windows, which are now standard in most Scottish new builds. The blind is bonded to the glass and travels with the sash, so you never have to move it out of the way to open a window.
It works on glazed doors for the same reason, and it sits close to the glass rather than standing proud in a frame, so it's less likely to clash with handles, reveals or opening clearances.
Because it's sized to the visible glass rather than to a particular bead depth, it fits far more window systems than a bead-mounted blind will, including uPVC, timber, aluminium and composite frames, and some of the slimmer modern profiles that bead-fit blinds struggle with.
Our Position
There's more than one way to fit a blind without drilling
Several no-drill systems hold themselves in place with sprung metal brackets pushed in between the edge of the glass and the rubber gasket. They're sold on the basis that nothing gets drilled, which is true. It's also not the whole picture, because those brackets end up sitting inside the seal that holds your glazing unit in place and keeps water out of the frame.
Most glazing warranties exclude problems caused by third parties modifying the frame, bead or sealed unit. We can't tell you that brackets in the gasket will invalidate your warranty, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that if a unit mists up in a few years' time, the first thing that happens is a search for something to blame, and hardware sitting in the gasket pocket is an easy thing to point at.
TruFit sidesteps the argument entirely. Everything bonds to the visible face of the glass. Nothing goes behind the gasket, nothing goes into the drainage paths, and nothing is drilled. For new or expensive glazing, and particularly in new-build homes where the windows are still under warranty, we think that's the more conservative choice.
Plenty of bead-mounted blinds are fitted every year without trouble, and we're not claiming they cause failures. We just prefer not to put a customer in a position where someone else can use our blinds as a reason to say no.
Before You Choose
Two things TruFit doesn't do
It won't darken a room as well as a recess-fitted blind. TruFit covers the glass and nothing else, so the frame stays uncovered and light comes in around the edges. If the main job is making a bedroom darker, a blind fitted inside the recess will do it better, and we'd rather tell you that now than after they're on the wall.
It isn't motorised. TruFit is operated by a handle on the blind itself, which rules out SmartCord and the PowerView app and remote options you'll see elsewhere in the Luxaflex range. If you want blinds you can run from your phone, this isn't the system for it.
Neither of those is a reason to avoid TruFit. They're just the trade-offs that come with a blind bonded to the glass, and it's easier to weigh them up before you order.
