We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymised data about page views, visitor numbers, and how people navigate through our site. IP addresses are anonymised, meaning we cannot identify individual visitors from this data.
Analytics cookies are only set after you give your consent. When you first visit our website, a consent banner will appear at the bottom of the page, giving you the choice to accept analytics cookies or use essential cookies only. Your preference is remembered for future visits.
This information helps us improve our website and ensure it meets the needs of our visitors. We do not use advertising features within Google Analytics.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how our pages are actually used. Clarity records interactions such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and turns them into heatmaps and anonymised session replays. We use it to find parts of the site that are confusing or awkward to use, particularly on mobile phones.
Microsoft Clarity sets cookies only after you give your consent. If you choose essential cookies only, Clarity still measures the visit but sets no cookies, and it cannot recognise you when you come back.
4. Advertising and conversion cookies
We use the following services to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These cookies are only set after you give your consent via the cookie banner.
- Meta Pixel: Measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Meta Pixel may collect information about your visit to help us understand which advertisements brought you to our website.
- Google Ads conversion tracking: Measures whether visitors who click on our Google search advertisements go on to take action on our website, such as submitting an enquiry form. This helps us understand which advertisements are effective.
- OpenAI Ads: Measures whether visitors who arrive from advertising within OpenAI's ChatGPT go on to take action on our website, such as submitting an enquiry form. This helps us understand which advertisements are effective.
This data is used solely for advertising measurement and is not used to build profiles for targeted advertising on our site.
5. Third party services
The third party services that may receive data from our website are Google Analytics (anonymised usage data), Google Ads (conversion measurement), Meta Pixel (advertising measurement), OpenAI Ads (advertising measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (usage analytics, heatmaps and anonymised session replay). Google Ads, Meta Pixel and OpenAI Ads receive data only once you have given consent, and may set their own cookies on your device at that point. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity measure your visit without setting cookies unless you consent, and set cookies only after you accept. We do not share your browsing data with any other third parties for tracking purposes.
Some of our pages contain YouTube videos. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and nothing loads from YouTube until you click play. Once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies on your device. If you would rather that did not happen, simply don't play the video.
