Living in some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland shouldn't mean settling for second best. We've built a remote service that gives Highlands and Islands customers the same expert advice and quality of product as customers five minutes from our studio.
The Challenge
Living in some of the remotest parts of Scotland or on our Islands is just a dream for most of the population.
However, we know, from speaking with clients in these parts, that getting great products with a service to match can be challenging.
For most companies, including ours, it's unlikely to be commercially viable to drive for hours or jump on a ferry to visit you at home.
Although for some larger projects, we have done exactly that.
Working Remotely
But we think we have something that may interest you.
Something that was born out of necessity when, during the pandemic, we couldn't even visit our local clients in Central Scotland.
And that was the virtual video call.
With a virtual call, you can speak with one of our experts and discuss your shading challenges — rooms that are too hot or too cold, the sun bleaching your soft furnishings, or a little more privacy.

Designed for You
We already have clients in the far north of mainland Scotland and on the Islands who have used this service.
Of course, we still can't get to you to measure or fit. That bit will need to be done by you or by one of your tradesmen.
However, we provide full online, video, and telephone call support not only for you but for whoever will be measuring and fitting your shading systems.
We realise that this is not our Gold service, which offers a full measure, design, and installation service. But it is the next best thing.
By booking a video call with one of our experts, you can at least explore the possibilities. Between us, we can determine if what you are trying to achieve can be done remotely.

And because we design many of our products, we can create something bespoke for you.
Your Experts
Your video calls will be with either David Browne or David D'Ambrosio — the Davids, we like to call them. Whether you speak to us in person or by video call, you are always dealing with the people who run the business.
David is a co-founder of the Company and has been in the window shading industry for nearly 40 years. An engineer to trade, David B is responsible for producing all of our detailed drawings on our in-house Computer Aided Design system.
David has been with the Company for over twenty-five years and is our expert in shading system motorisation. David D is a Past President of our national association, the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA), and is the association's go-to person for all things window shutters.
How We Help
A full consultation by video call. We discuss your windows, show you product options, and guide you through the process as if we were sitting in your living room.
We create tailored video presentations for remote clients, walking you through product recommendations specific to your home. A personal touch that goes far beyond a catalogue.

For locations where installation by our team is not practical, we offer a supply only service. You receive the same quality products with full technical guidance for your local installer.
If you're planning to visit the deep south, our Design Studios in Dundee and Edinburgh are open by appointment only. Full size working displays of shutters and blinds, and the undivided attention of our team.

Getting There
For the right project, we travel. Ferries from Scrabster, flights to Kirkwall, sometimes both in the same week.
